Anna Hazare ill advised: NAC member Aruna Roy

Aruna Roy (born 26 June 1946) is an Indian political and social activist who founded and heads the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathana ("Workers and Peasants Strength Union"). She is best known as a prominent leader of the Right to Information movement, which led to the enactment of the Right to Information Act in 2005.She has also remained a member of the National Advisory Council.


Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare's fast is in its sixth day as he demands that Parliament pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in this session of Parliament. On the other hand, social activist Aruna Roy, a member of the National Action Council (NAC) and the National Campaign for People's Right to Information (NCPRI) has come up with her own version of an effective Lokpal Bill.
Aruna Roy said, "We will present our bill to the Standing Committee. The government draft is a weak one."
